May 2026: Resource Round Up

May is recognized as Sexual Violence Awareness Month. Traumatic experiences, including sexual violence, can be a risk factor for suicide. This month, to show our support for survivors, we’re highlighting organizations that provide services, information, and resources to survivors of sexual violence. 

Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region

The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region (SASCWR) provides a wide-range of services including counselling (individual and group), a 24-hour crisis line, and their Male Allies program, which is focused on educating men to prevent sexual violence. 

Child Witness Centre

The Child Witness Centre provides compassionate support, education, and advocacy for children, youth and families impacted by crime, including but not limited to sexual violence. 

Need Help Now

Need Help Now is an online resource created by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. It aims to support young people who have had private, intimate content online, by encouraging help-seeking and providing information about their rights. 

Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres

The Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres is a network of sexual assault support centres across Ontario. 

Ending Sexual Violence Association of Canada

Ending Sexual Violence Association of Canada is a national organization which works collaboratively across the country to build a unified, collective national movement to end sexual violence.
