March 13: We understand the growing concerns surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) across our community, and our hearts hold space for all those who’ve been impacted or are struggling with the uncertainty during this time.  We will include some links to community resources that can be accessed remotely below.

We also know that there are many questions and conversations about social distancing.  In response to the general consensus by medical experts to reduce mass gatherings, WRSPC has made the decision to cancel and/or postpone all community events and meetings until further notice.  Our Board of Directors as well as the WRSPC staff have not made this decision lightly.  The health and safety of all community members remains our top priority, and this is our part in helping to reduce the potential spread.

Because this is an evolving situation we will continually reassess policies and procedures as they relate to upcoming events and as new information becomes available based on recommendations from the Region of Waterloo Public Health and other designated Canadian public health authorities.  We will be certain to communicate any and all changes in a timely manner via our website and/or social media channels.

If you or someone you know are struggling with thoughts of suicide please call Here 24/7 at 1-844-437-3247.

March 25 Update: We’ve created a new post containing resources to support individuals and families at this time, titled “Maintaining Mental Wellness During COVID-19”
