We invite you to join our annual World Suicide Prevention Day community gathering on Thursday, September 10th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Family Centre, 65 Hanson Ave, Kitchener.
World Suicide Prevention Day is for those who have been bereaved by suicide, those who might be struggling today, and those who are holding on to hope for tomorrow.

About World Suicide Prevention Day
Observed on September 10th each year, World Suicide Prevention Day is a global advocacy day which aims to reduce stigma and raise awareness about suicide prevention amongst organizations, government, and the public. Locally, our focus on World Suicide Prevention Day is to acknowledge lives who have been touched by suicide, and to promote the possibility of hope, help, and healing.

Who is this event for?
This event is for anyone who wants to learn more about the programs and services in our community, wants to connect with others who have lived experience, and those who want to show their support for suicide prevention in Waterloo Region. Each year we have a diverse group of attendees including families, professionals, and young adults.
Will there be food?
We are providing light refreshments – gluten free and vegan baked goods, as well coffee, tea and juice.
How do you manage safety during the event?
We recognize that the event may bring about strong emotions. As such, we have Keep Safe supporters who will be available to connect with attendees, provide support, and who can assist participants in accessing further help, if needed. Keep Safe supporters are ASIST trained.
Is parking available?
Free parking is available at the venue, the Family Centre, located at 65 Hanson Ave, Kitchener.
How can I get there?
The venue is accessible by public transit. The ION Light Rail Block Line Station is a 13 minute walk to the venue. Bus Route 33 Sunrise Centre Station also stops in front of the Family Centre.
