#WellbeingAdventCalendar2020
There are many ways we can build our resilience. Just as we may take vitamins to protect ourselves from illness, or stretch to protect ourselves from injury, we can build up resilience factors that may protect our mental health from suffering. While just as taking a vitamin can’t totally prevent all illness, these won’t totally reduce our risk of experiencing poor mental health, but they are some ways we can build healthy habits to possibly reduce the severity or frequency of our distress. It can be particularly helpful to look at ways you can build your resilience and protective factors when we are doing well, before we face distress, so that we may be more prepared to handle it when it comes.
Earlier this year we shared 12 resilience & protective factors across 4 blog posts, including resources to access to help you build each. Take a look back at these posts here: https://wrspc.ca/category/resilience-protective-factors/
How might you build some of these resilience & protective factors into your holiday season? Which might be most neglected this time of year?
